03 Appropriate Body

Thank you to all Induction Tutors and ECTs who completed the Spring Term Progress Reviews and Assessments before the Easter Break.  The Appropriate Body Board were keen to highlight and celebrate the good practice that is going on in supporting ECTs in our schools.  We are keen to support Induction Tutors and may have been in touch to give you some feedback about the quality of your reports.   
 
It is great that we are constantly able to update the exemplar materials on ECT Manager due to the high quality reports that we receive.  Do please take a look at those to support you in reporting your reviews and reports.   
 
ECTs....there are some useful examples on there to support you in writing your comments and reflections.  A huge thank you to the schools who have agreed to us sharing their reports as WAGOLLs!  
 
There are occasions when an ECT may not be on track to meet the Teachers’ Standards at the end of their induction period and they may require some extra support.  In these situations, do contact us straight away to discuss your ECT and how best to support them.  Please do not leave it until you are completing the Progress Review or Assessment at the end of the term.  We are always available to talk through a situation and answer any questions or concerns you may have – so do get in touch.  Cath O’Neill is the named contact for the Appropriate Body and is available on 07897280909 or coneill@wpat.uk 
 

September Registrations

If you have recently appointed, or in the process of appointing, an ECT for September the window to register these for the Early Career Teacher Entitlement is not yet open. Schools will be invited via email from the DfE to register their ECTs from mid-June.  
 
The DfE Portal Register early career teachers - Register early career teachers - GOV.UK now requires you to have a DfE Sign In to access the service.  You can get help with a DfE Sign In here DfE Sign-in 
 
You will also need to register your ECTs with the Appropriate Body Generate Teaching Hub - ECT Paperless Induction and Assessment Management System
