Registration Now Open for September 2026 ECTs and Mentors

Schools can now begin registering their Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and Mentors for the September 2026 cohort of the Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE). From 15th June 2026 onwards, schools will receive an invitation from the Department for Education (DfE) to start the registration process.

What’s New for 2026?

The DfE has introduced a new system, Register Early Career Teachers (RECT), which replaces the previous Manage Training for Early Career Teachers service. Schools will access this platform using their DfE Sign-in, and a range of supporting videos is available to help users navigate the new system.

How to Register

To register a new ECT or Mentor schools must complete two steps – registration with the DfE via your DfE Sign-in and registration with an appropriate body via ECT Manager.
