Excellence in Reception Teaching (EiRT)
A new, fully funded course for reception teachers. This course is designed to deepen reception-specific pedagogical knowledge and strengthen practice using practical, evidence‑based approaches. The course aims to support more children to achieve a good level of development. It will cover:
- child development
- classroom practice and teaching
- inclusive practice
- effective partnerships
Limited places in 2026/27, with cohorts running in Autumn and Spring.
How the course is delivered
The course is designed to fit around your teaching commitments.
It will:
- take around 2 school terms to complete
- combine online learning and self-study (minimum 20 hours)
- include at least 4 hours of live online training

NPQ in Early Years Leadership
For those interested in further developing their Early Years Leadership knowledge and skills, the NPQEYL is fully funded for all schools and settings for the Autumn 2026 cohort.
