Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE)

Just a reminder that from September 2025, the term ECTE replaces ‘ECF-based training and induction’.  The Early Career Training Programme (ECTP) aligns with the Initial Teacher Training Early Career Framework (ITTECF) and maintains the grounding in evidence to ensure the highest standards of professional development for new teachers.  Induction for early career teachers (England) - GOV.UK

Further details are available on our website here.

What does this mean for your school?
ECTs or Mentors who start training before September 2025 should:
  • Continue to use the same course and materials until 2027

  • Move to training based on the ITTECF from 1st September 2027 if they’ve not complete their induction by 31st August 2027

ECTs or Mentors who are registered to start training from 1st September 2025 should:
  • Register for the Early Career Training Programme as part of the ECTE.

All ECTs and Mentors need to be registered on the DfE portal to formally register their training and gain access to their online learning platform. Manage training for early career teachers

All ECTs need to have their induction registered with an Appropriate Body Generate Teaching Hub - ECT Paperless Induction and Assessment Management System

If you have any questions about registering ECTs and Mentors or if you have ECTs joining your school who are part way through their training, then do get in touch hub@wpat.uk. The team will be happy to answer your questions and support you.

DfE Survey

As part of the statutory function of the Teaching School hub, the DfE requires us to share a specific survey with schools. The purpose of this survey is to identify:

  • Your experiences with the Hub’s services and support

  • The impact of hub activities on your school or teachers

  • Your views on the overall effectiveness of Teaching Schools Hub’s work in ITT/ECF/AB/NPQ

The survey supports us in developing effective and impactful training opportunities for teachers across our areas of Halton, Warrington and Wigan.

We know this is an incredibly busy time of year, but would really appreciate it if you could spare a couple of minutes to share your feedback
